Beginning in 2009, I painted small murals in businesses and homes and created acrylic paintings of my own to show at various art fairs, all while teaching K-5 art. I liked creating art for others and seeing the joy in their eyes when viewing my work, but I wanted to share more of the creative process with them, as I did in the classroom. I wanted them to feel the excitement and energy of making something of your own. In 2014, I taught my first group of adult painters for a birthday party. And I LOVED it! Seeing them work through each step and proudly show off their finished artworks at the end was the creative experience I was looking to share with others.
In the spring of 2020, I "retired" from teaching art in a public school setting and chose to pursue my dream of opening my own art studio to continue sharing the love of creating with others. I expanded my business by leading art parties at homes, businesses, and local parks to artists of all ages. We paint on canvas or wood, create stencil artworks, macramé, and more. I fell in love with the art of macramé and offer custom and original pieces for sale through my site, local shops, and markets in northern Illinois.
I continue to create custom murals for homes and businesses on walls, windows, sign boards, you name it. I am also available for commission to create macramé pieces, event signage, drawings, and acrylic paintings.
If you are interested in booking an event or would like more information on a custom work of art, message me.
